1. Why did Parvana's family embrace Shauzia as if she was an old friend, even though they had not met her before?

They embraced Shuazia as if she was an old friend because she was like Parvana and thought that she could be friends and they knew this girl had been going through the same thing and felt bad for her.

2. How do you think Parvana felt about running into Shauzia. How would you feel in Parvana's situation? Make a connection to an experience you've had, or another text.

I think Parvana felt happy she was not the only one that did this and thought she could build a friendship and they could go to work together and cover for each other if a Taliban came and was suspicious.

3. Why might Parvana feel uncomfortable about digging up bones for money? Would you dig up the bones? Explain your thinking.

I think Parvana feels uncomfortable about digging bones because she could get in a lot of trouble but she knows she needs the money for her family. I would dig up the bones because if I were in her situation than I would try to get as much money i can provide for my family.

4. Why did Parvana keep her work digging up bones a secret from her family. Try and come up with a least two reasons.

Parvana kept her gigging up bones a secret from her family because she needed the money and knew that her mom would not like it. She also didn't want her mother or her other family members to tell the Taliban because they were mad that she did some thing she wasn't allowed to do.
